Muhammad Yafie Jasmi Azis

Introduction

Yafie is an Interior Designer who studied Interior Design at ITS from 2019 to 2023. At the time of writing, he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Management at ITS (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember).

Our collaboration dates back to high school. We attended the same junior high and high school in Surabaya. As a group of creative students, I believe we first met in 8th grade, but we became closer in 10th grade when we ended up in the same class. While we weren’t exactly in the same friend group at the time, we recognized our shared interests.

Yafie, Jauhar, and I frequently participated in various creative competitions, such as lomba mading (wall magazine competitions), venue design contests, and urban park design competitions. We won quite a few of them, though unfortunately, these competitions were often regarded as trivial by the school board. Despite that, our shared experiences brought us closer, leading all three of us to pursue creative fields in higher education—Yafie in interior design, while Jauhar and I pursued architecture.

Yafie has a kind personality and a lively presence in social settings. While our values and goals in life don’t always align, I understand his perspective well. Now, we are planning to start our practice together under the name Padya.
